I'm Reading this Saturday in Philly
I’ll be reading for Art Loft PA’s salon in Philadelphia this weekend.
Saturday’s salon features the work of visual artist Kim Piotrowski and music by Lee Allen.
The salon is invitation only- if you’d like to go just shoot me an email ahead of time.
Readers today appreciate variations and plays on cliche in the way past readers...

I've elected affinities
3 poems and a statement of poetics up at Elective Affinities.
It was kind of a big deal for me to write a statement of poetics.
I mean it took me a long time. And I tried really hard.
Make sure you read the other work at Elective Affinities.
It’s a generous space to read.
Lately I’ve been seeing walls I last saw as a child.

Wrote a poem last night called KEEPING JIM HENSON HONEST AND DEAD.
Wrote another called SATELLITE (a bad poem).
A couple days ago I sat down to write but I could only write titles, not poems.
I think I’m going to go to AWP this year.

Revista Laboratorio
Carlos Soto Román was kind enough to translate some of my work into spanish.
Some of those translations just appeared in Revista Laboratorio, a magazine out of Santiago, Chile.
A few of my collage poems are also in the issue.
As are some other translations by Carlos (and Juan Diego Soto) of Zachary Schomburg’s poems.
A big, big thanks to Carlos. Now I get to imagine my poems stomping...

I just finished a suite of marsh poems.
Before that I wrote a suite of bear poems.
My poems used to come one at a time.
Then they started coming in pairs.
Now they come in sets of five to eight. I call them suites.
I’m not sure if they’re really separate poems.
They might be modules, facets or a dub version of a single poem.
It’s fun writing this way.
