Food Is Thinking

Somethings I’ve eaten over a four day period: asparagus crab pizza, a crabcake sandwich, crab fries and two pounds of dungeness crab.

And just now I finished a kiwi.

Last night Brian & I watched Killer of Sheep - a 1977 neorealist film from Charles Burnett that explores the community surrounding a brooding, “middle class” black man who works at a slaughterhouse. Holy shit it was amazing.

Here’s a screenshot:

Next week I’m going to see End of The Line: Imagine A World Without Fish (Free at the The Academy of Natural Sciences) and then Food, Inc

I imagine I won’t eat much of anything after that.

Venezuela just right now banned Coke Zero for unspecified health reasons. I’m drinking a Coke Zero at the moment.

I’m about to read Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan. Maybe that will help.

It’s all a bit much. Eating. Thinking.
